As many of you know, I had the honor of attending and participating as a speaker at this year's Direct Selling Women's Alliance (DSWA) Education Celebration in Las Vegas last weekend. I was personally invited to speak on the important subject of diversity in our profession by the CEO and Co-Founder of DSWA, Nicki Keohohou. This was an unbelievable opportunity and truly a blessing because I didn't set out to speak at this meeting, or even travel to Las Vegas to attend. In fact, I just recently joined the DSWA, about one week prior to Nicki finding me online, which was just a few weeks ago on April 7th. I know this exact date because I was "blown away" that a women of such status and importance in our profession took it upon herself to research on the internet, looking specifically for direct selling professionals and websites that examplified the celebration of diversity in our profession. I was honored (and thrilled!) that MLM Blackwoman.com caught her eye.

After meeting Nicki in person at the conference, it became very clear to me why this woman had such a magnetic personality over the phone. It's because Nicki IS the epitome of grace, compassion, wisdom and professionalism, truly.
I've met many wonderful and powerful people in my life in the Direct Sales industry over the years, but not everyone "just IS", if you know what I mean. Nicki geniuninely wants black women in direct sales to RAISE to the occasion and the TOP of our profession. I want you to know we have a real champion of diversity on our side and her name is Nicki Keohohou. Nicki's amazing daughter and business partner, Grace Keohohou, is just as committed and determined to introduce more women of color to the network marketing and direct sales industry. I spent time with the DSWA Online Marketing Director , Lisa Zetah, ANOTHER awesome woman and champion for diversity in our industry!! I just want you to know the DSWA "has our back", and you can feel confident that more black women around this country and the world, will be enlightened to the FACTS and the benefits of choosing Direct Sales as their career and profession.

Please stay tuned for updates on the upcoming DIVERSITY CENTER on the DSWA website. I am pleased to announce this blog, our blog, YOUR BLOG, MLM Blackwoman.com will be featured as part of the Diversity Center on DSWA website!!!  That is a HUGE plus for the readers of this blog and African-American women and all women of color interested in the Direct Sales profession. I will keep you posted on the progess, I will be working with Lisa Zetah, Grace and Nicki Keohohou direct to create an impressive and effective online center for all women interested in bringing more diversity into this industry. This will become an excellent resource for you.

I can't tell you how many gifted, driven and dedicated women (and men) I met while attending the celebration.
I was blessed to be there. I realize now that my role and purpose was so much more then just "speaker" or "attendee". My true purpose was more like a mission, a mission to go there to share, learn and bring back insights, inspirations and information to share with all of you. I came back wiser and more appreciative of this awesome profession we all belong to called...Direct Sales and Network Marketing. I came back with a STRONG INTENTION, a sense of CLARITY, a TRUE VISION. This conference was the best I've ever attended, let's make sure we ALL go together next year!!  If you haven't already, visit the DSWA website and JOIN!! It is worth it, in so many ways.

I'll see you at the TOP!!!  British Ford-Hill
